Fat and Happy

It's my last day visiting my parents for Thanksgiving, and I've had a great time. My niece and nephew are cuter than ever, I got to see my brother and my parents, and oh the food! Delicious, moist, juicy turkey, mountains of mashed potatoes, fresh gravy, homemade cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce (the good cheap kind that comes in the can and you can slice up and serve), fresh, soft rolls with real butter, Martinelli's sparkling apple cider and my mom's pumpkin pie with cool whip. While I'm no stranger to eating too much, this was something else: an honest-to-God ritual feast.

Tomorrow I'm going to be crammed into an airplane seat, pulling in my arms to keep from accidentally touching the stranger next to me, squishing my legs together to keep my book steady impatiently waiting to get home, but today fat and happy doesn't begin to cover it.
